How To Break Up With A Woman

My latest video from MSN is about how to break up with someone, without being a dick.

Trust me, I know understand how much easier and comfortable it is to avoid a situation and hope for it to go away. But as a “grown up” and someone who has been on both sides of the break up, I know it's better to confront it head on.

Marni's Rule For Breaking Up With Integrity: As soon as you know you're not into a person (woman) anymore, you MUST tell her.  Don't try to get her to break up with you.  The manly thing to do is end things instead of letting them drag out.

    at least from my experience, its women who see no problem with breaking up over vague, indescript reasons like “there’s no chemistry” that’s about as informative as saying, “there’s no quaxlies”

    and she even tried the “complement” nonsense, but it was pretty empty, I got “you’re a GREAT guy” and “I want the friendship”

    ultimately the story ends the same, she makes the decision and you have to take it up the ass.

    just broke up with a girl earlier this week. she told me she would have preferred I broke up with her over the phone.

    I’m still glad I did it face to face.

      I think sometimes face to face is the best way to give a person that you’ve cared about the explanation they deserve: though it’s tougher to do at the time

    OK, good advice. Very socially correct and diplomatic. And you’re right, in the final analysis, people really DO prefer that you be straightforward rather than beat around the bush or avoid them like a chicken.

    As I think back to when I was a yoot, I never did that. Nope. Not me. No, really, I didn’t do the avoidance thing. No, seriously. I mean I really, really, REALLY didn’t. C’mon, I mean it. I didn’t do that. I wouldn’t just avoid a girl’s calls and not talk to her because I was a big chicken. Nope, I was NEVER like that. Truly I wasn’t. You really should believe me . . . .
