menshealthwinggirlsWant to know 3 easy ways to Start Conversations With Women? It’s actually pretty easy as long as you use one of the 3 conversation starters outlined below. I found these tips in this month’s Men’s Health Magazine.

3 Great Tips for starting conversation with women and chatting up – and charming – any woman whether you’re at an office function or a cocktail party.

Seek Common Ground

Discussing how you’re connected to the event or the host is an easy way to make someone you’ve never met open up and feel comfortable around you.
Marni Comment: I really like this one. It is an easy way to start conversation and get to know another person. From there you can relax and get more comfortable with each other.

Pay A Compliment

If, for example, a woman you’ve been introduced to is wearing a bracelet you admire, tell her you like it – and WHY (the WHY is the important part). This shows that you’re genuinely interested. Follow up with “Where did you get it?” or “What is it made of?” to keep the conversation going.
Marni Comment: One little note is to not get stuck on this topic of her bracelet. Be able to use this as an introduction and then transition into something else. Don’t get stuck in your compliment.

Ask Specific Questions

One of the best conversation starters is “What keeps you busy outside work?” Inquiring about someone’s career can dead-end, especially if the person has a boring job. But asking about personal interests will get them talking and will reveal a lot about them.
Marni Comment: This one is my favorite ways to get to know someone. It is where connections and common ground can be found.  While asking this question take the time to think about whether or not you want to get to know this woman better based on her interests.

I would print out this list and look it over before going out to a social event.  If you have this material on quick recall you will be able to relax because you know that you will always have something to say.

What do I talk to women about?

ANYTHING

There is no wrong conversation to have with a woman. Well maybe except how you are a big fan of XXX rated porn. But even that, with the right woman, may be a perfectly normal conversation.

The thing is that you must stop thinking about what SHE wants to talk about. Think about what you want to talk about and go from there.  Throughout your life you have had many conversations before right? In fact I am sure most of them have been very successful and even easy!  That means you already have the skills you are just freaking out because you THINK that conversation with women needs to be different. It doesn’t!

The only thing you need to be careful of is that you are present in the conversation.  That means that you are listening, engaging and present.  Not off in never never land, fixating on whether or not she is into you.

To warm up your conversation tools, I have a mini assignment for you.

I want you to write down 10 questions which can be anything from “So are you from around here?” to “What was your favorite toy when you were a child?”. Up to you.  Then go PRACTICE these questions.  Practice at home in front of the mirror, in public with live human beings and on real women.  The more you practice and use your conversation tool the easier conversation will come to you.  The more you do it the more natural it will feel and the more automatic it will become.

To help others, post some of your questions. This way you can get feedback and also help others who may not be able to come up with questions.
