Thank you for your comment. As for the jewelry, while yes “flashy” can be done well, most of the time it is done so wrong it’s offensive. I find that men look great in simple and thoughtful jewelry. You want to look classy and sophisticated and it is hard to achieve that by wearing huge “bling-bling”. If you still feel the need to “flash” consult a professional (me) to avoid looking like “that guy”. In regards to the embellished shirts and faded jeans, stay far far away! While those trends were once considered cool by some, those styles have passed and have moved on to the next. Also fashion people that are “in the know” would not be caught dead wearing such items. Demonstrate “higher value” and be on the forefront of fashion and stick with the dark no fade straight legged jean. Trust me you will thank me later ; ). Time to tune up that wardrobe of mine.

I have some questions on the fashion don’ts section.

1. Why is it not ok to wear flashy jewelry?
What if the silver or gold necklace is flashy by itself?

Im enjoying my vacation in the Dutch Carribean at the moment. I have been to a couple of stores, and most of them sell faded denim jeans and embellished jeans. Also embellished t-shirts, some with witty comments on them.

It seems that this is the summer style around here.
Same thing back home in The Netherlands.
2. Why is it not ok to wear these? What does it say about a man in general, regardless of age?
